CRITERIA, GRADING AND TRANSCRIPTS

30 hours of reading, response and discussion

Grades are Pass/Fail

More than 1 missed assignment, without notifying instructor, will result in an automatic failure. NOTE: please do not think that you can arbitrarily miss an assignment.  This is for extenuating circumstances ONLY.  Those who do miss an assignment, without notifying the instructor, are still required to complete the 30 hours of coursework as previously stipulated.  Grading is at the sole discretion of the instructor.

Transcripts will be issued at the end of the course after grades are submitted to CEA and are approved.  DO NOT contact Adams State for transcripts.

MISSED ASSIGNMENTS

We understand the demands that are put on educators these days, and every one of us has a personal life, as well.  If you are not able to complete an assignment on time that is OK, but please, you MUST send me an email before the assignment is due and offer a brief explanation as to why.  NOTE: under no circumstance will responses be accepted after April 21ST.

ASSIGNMENT EXPECTATIONS

Responses and discussions are expected to be comprehensive with a focus not only on education, but your Local Association, as well.

During the past 2 Book Studies I have encouraged participants to engage each other in discussion.  The prior Book Study evaluations revealed that participants enjoyed this and wanted to have more intra-group discussion.   Questions generated and consequent discussion items will sometimes require students to communicate, on the website, with each other.

NORMS FOR DISCUSSION

Be honest and not intimidated – tell us what you think.

Be respectful of others’ ideas and opinions

CONFIDENTIALITY

The Book Study site is secure.

There is an expectation of confidentiality within the group.
